MACDONALD BATH SPA HOTEL
Location. The historic Macdonald Bath Spa hotel is half a mile from the city centre of Bath, England. Famous attractions in the centre include the Roman Baths, the Pump Rooms and the Abbey.
Hotel Features. Built of golden Bath stone in the Georgian era, the Macdonald Bath Spa hotel was formerly a private mansion, and sits in seven acres of landscaped gardens with swaying cedars, fountains and ponds. There is complimentary onsite parking for guests.
The Macdonald Bath Spa hotel's Vellore Restaurant occupies the former ballroom. The formal restaurant serves English and French-style cuisine beneath high-ceilings, with a pianist playing on Friday and Saturday evenings. The less formal Alfresco Restaurant, in the conservatory is flooded with natural light. Pre-dinner cocktails and after-dinner brandies and cigars are served in the Colonnade Bar. Afternoon tea or light lunches can be taken in the Drawing Room, decorated with period-style furniture.
The hotel's large spa has a 15-metre indoor pool, outdoor pool with sundeck, and jetted tub. The gym offers personal trainers (surcharge may apply). There are six treatment rooms for manicures, pedicures, facials and body treatments. The hotel also offers a sauna, infra-red room, aroma steam room, salt-infusion room and ice room.
Guestrooms. The 104 guestrooms are traditionally decorated and feature mahogany furnishings. Rooms offer CD players, minibars, dial-up Internet connections, satellite television, safes and tea/coffee making facilities.
